It's just another forgettable genre film. If you don't figure it out within half an hour, you probably haven't been to a movie since 1999.. . Given these unpromising circumstances, I was expecting something truly awful, and perhaps that might have been more fun to watch than this lugubrious period piece. The production values and the costumes are the true stars.. Coyote Ugly is profoundly stupid, earnestly inept at conveying a story and hellbent on wallowing in its shallow emotional manipulation...
